Privacy Policy

Effective 1 October 2026

The short version: Dumpy looks at your photos on your iPhone to find the good ones. Your photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We have no account system, no analytics and no ad tracking.

This policy explains how the Dumpy iOS app ("Dumpy", "the app") handles information. Dumpy is published by Applax Pte. Ltd. ("we", "us"). If you have a question, write to team@applax.co.

1. Your photos

With your permission, Dumpy reads your photo library to choose photos and make photo dumps. All of this analysis (quality, colour, subjects such as food or pets, text detection, duplicates, time and place grouping) runs only on your device, with Apple's built-in on-device tools. Dumpy keeps a small index of these results on your device so it does not need to start again each time. Your photos, the index and your finished dumps are never sent to our servers. We do not have servers that receive them.

You can change Dumpy's photo access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos. When you save a dump, Dumpy adds the image to an album called "dumpy" in your library.

2. Location and dates in photos

Dumpy reads the date and the location that your camera stored in each photo, to group photos by day and place on your device, and to find photos from your trips.

To show the name of a place you travelled to (for example "bali, indonesia"), Dumpy uses Apple's location service on your iPhone. For each trip area, it sends one approximate coordinate to Apple and gets back the town and country name. It never sends your photos, and Apple's privacy policy applies to that request: apple.com/legal/privacy. Dumpy keeps the names on your device. All other location data stays on your device.

3. Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and paid through Apple. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to check whether your subscription is active. For this, RevenueCat receives a random app user ID created by the app, your purchase and receipt information from Apple, and basic technical data (such as app version, device model and country of your App Store account). RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

4. Sharing to other apps

When you tap share, Dumpy passes the image you chose to the app you picked (for example Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, WhatsApp or Messages), or to the iOS share sheet. This happens only when you ask for it. From then on, that app's own privacy policy applies. For Instagram and Facebook Stories, Apple's share requires a Meta app identifier, which tells Meta that the image came from Dumpy. For TikTok, the photos you share are passed by their identifier in your library.

5. Ratings and support

Dumpy may ask you to rate it with Apple's standard rating prompt. Apple handles that prompt. If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you.

6. What we do not do

7. Children

Dumpy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

8. Keeping and deleting data

Everything Dumpy stores lives on your device. Deleting the app deletes the index and its settings. Dumps you saved to Photos stay in your library until you delete them. To ask about any data RevenueCat holds for your purchases, email us and we will help.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its use. Because Dumpy keeps your photos on your device, most requests are answered by the device itself. For anything else, write to team@applax.co.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
